At SSEN Distribution, we continue to make key operational decisions to ensure our network remains resilient, efficient, and ready to meet customer needs. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, we are sharing our updated Operational Decision Making (ODM) approach and inviting your feedback through our latest consultation. This updated ODM document explains how we make decisions relating to the dispatch of Distributed Energy Resources across Flexibility Services, Access Products, and whole system coordination. Why We’re Consulting
We are committed to reviewing and improving our ODM on a regular basis. Building on stakeholder feedback and the successful launch of our first ODM release, this updated draft provides further clarity, transparency, and operational detail.
The consultation on our draft update is now open and will close on 10 December. Following the consultation, we will consider all feedback and publish our final version in March 2026. We will continue to review our ODM annually and engage with stakeholders to ensure it remains current, collaborative, and reflective of the needs of the wider energy system.
We welcome your views. Your feedback will help ensure our approach remains clear, robust, and aligned with the needs of customers, flexibility providers, market participants and wider stakeholders. Together, we can continue to shape an operational framework that is transparent, future focused, and capable of supporting an evolving energy system.
The consultation should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
