SSEN Distribution Future Energy Scenarios (DFES) Webinar - SHEPD Stakeholders

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) invites you to a webinar on the upcoming Distribution Future Energy Scenarios (DFES) submissions for 2025. This webinar is for stakeholders within the SHEPD licence area (Northern Scotland). 

As a Distribution System Operator (DSO), one of our key responsibilities is the strategic planning of the distribution network. This involves anticipating how community needs for energy infrastructure will evolve in the years to come.

To gain valuable insight into these trends, we collaborate with Regen to develop our Distribution Future Energy Scenarios (DFES), building on the framework provided by NESO's Future Energy Scenarios (FES). Through this annual process, we project future network demands (both in terms of consumption and generation) up to 2045 or 2050, in line with the UK and Scottish Government net zero ambitions. Stakeholder input plays a pivotal role in shaping accurate DFES forecasts, ensuring that our network aligns with future local needs and ambitions.

As we prepare to launch the DFES 2025 process, we invite you to join this webinar, where we'll cover:

• DFES 2025 timelines and opportunities for stakeholder engagement
• Pathways to Net Zero within DFES 2024 and DFES 2025
• Insights on the upcoming Electricity Distribution Price Control (ED3), beginning April 2028
• Our ongoing collaboration with NESO’s Regional Energy System Plans (RESPs)
