Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Distribution recently commenced its new price control period called RIIO-ED2, which will run from 2023 to 2028. As part of the final agreement, which was reached with Ofgem, we are able to apply for additional funding to deliver whole system solutions for net zero and to support the security of supply in the Scottish Islands.
In early 2024, we can apply for funds under the Hebrides and Orkney Whole System Uncertainty Mechanism (HOWSUM), and we are seeking views from customers and stakeholders to help further shape our plans.
Earlier this Autumn we hosted two webinars to share our initial plans and get feedback on our proposals. We are now in a position to provide an update on our progress and seek additional views from you.
