SSEN Emergency Planning Tabletop Exercise - Perth

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) would like to invite you to take part in our Rota Load Disconnection Tabletop Workshops / Exercises being delivered by SSEN for North of Scotland Regional Resilience Partners. 

Aim and Objectives of the Workshop/Exercise 

Morning Session: 

• Provide awareness and clarify the differences between Rota Load Disconnections (RLD) and Emergency Load Shedding (OC6)
• Understand how we could find ourselves in an RLD situation and how it protects us from a National Power Outage (NPO)
• Allow Multi Agency Groups within each region to get a better understanding of the nature and consequences of RLD.
• Confirm how RLD will be communicated to customers and confirm how to achieve protected site status.
• Discuss changes agreed nationally to RLD and OC6 for Winter 2023.

Afternoon Session:

• Explore three tabletop exercises on Rota Load Disconnection 
• Simulate a scenario with perfect conditions for 1 day only.
• Simulate a most likely RLD scenario - short disconnections for a few days.
• Simulate a difficult RLD scenario - multiple disconnections over a long period of time.
