SSEN SEPD Central - LRF Resilience Engagement Virtual Event

20 September 2022 — 09:30 - 12:00

20 September 2022 — 09:30 - 12:00
Status: Ended

Over the course of last winter, the UK was hit by a series of powerful storms. The devastating impacts of Storm Arwen in December 2021, a once-in-a-generation event, led to nearly a million homes being without power. The country was subsequently hit by six further storms including Storms Malik, Corrie and Eunice, all of which had a significant impact on our customers.

It is with this in mind that I would like to invite you to participate in a discussion covering our response to the winter storms and their impact on power supplies for our customers across Central Southern England.

The aim of this engagement event is to work with experts such as yourself and identify ways in which we can further improve our response to future severe weather events through collaboration with valued partners.

  • Our response to Storm Eunice and our learnings to date.
  • Effective engagement – ensuring that SSEN is effective in its participation with  LRFs, including our role in relation to the timings, information provision, and decision-making required throughout the LRF process.
  • Maximising the impact of our data – understanding the optimal content, format and frequency
  • Learning from others – sharing examples of good practice
